</ dc:description >
< dc:description > King Henry III of Castile had to sell his mantle to be able to dine, while the lords of the kingdom enjoyed the usurped riches of the monarch. He calls their presence and threatens to kill them if they do not return the wealth. The lords of the kingdom, frightened, accept. The nineteenth century literature rewrites this episode from different ideological and political perspectives. In this paper I explain the variants of this legend in the short nineteenth-century narrative. </ dc:description >

</ mods:abstract >
< mods:abstract > King Henry III of Castile had to sell his mantle to be able to dine, while the lords of the kingdom enjoyed the usurped riches of the monarch. He calls their presence and threatens to kill them if they do not return the wealth. The lords of the kingdom, frightened, accept. The nineteenth century literature rewrites this episode from different ideological and political perspectives. In this paper I explain the variants of this legend in the short nineteenth-century narrative. </ mods:abstract >

< dc:creator > Ribao Pereira, Montserrat </ dc:creator >
</ dc:description >
< dc:description > King Henry III of Castile had to sell his mantle to be able to dine, while the lords of the kingdom enjoyed the usurped riches of the monarch. He calls their presence and threatens to kill them if they do not return the wealth. The lords of the kingdom, frightened, accept. The nineteenth century literature rewrites this episode from different ideological and political perspectives. In this paper I explain the variants of this legend in the short nineteenth-century narrative. </ dc:description >
